What is Domain Ip Address

Every website has its own name which is commonly know as domain ip address of the website. For example Yahoo is the domain name of the website. These domain names are very useful for the common people as these are easy to remember and type in the browsers. But what actually happens when you type a domain name in the address bar of the browser?

The browsers know every website by their IP address and not by their domain names. When a domain name is typed in the browser’s search bar, that address is automatically converted into an IP address. This ip address is called the domain ip address or the website ip address.

The ip address of every website tells the browser about the server where the website files are stored. So by using this information the website pages are accessed from the specific web server. This is the very quick process and the person who is viewing the website in the browser don’t know about this conversion.

The domain ip address of every website is different and unique. No two websites can have the same ip. For example the ip of Yahoo website is 69.147.76.15. If you type this address in the address bar, you will see that Yahoo website will be opened.

Some websites have more than one website ip address. For example CNN website have more than one website ip address. These are multiple domain address. There are many online services that can tell you the ip address of your website.
